Welcome to Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Regina (G4G Regina)!

      FABRIC, YARN & MORE SALE

It’s back – G4G Regina’s popular Fabric, Yarn and More sale! During April this year, we will be collecting, sorting, and preparing for the sale – all in the same space. The poster has the details you need, complete with donation drop off dates and location, and when the time comes, the dates for the sale itself in that same location.

We heard you! We have had so many enquiries about when we’re holding another sale. It has taken a while to make the arrangements, and now we are moving forward. We even have a mascot named Woolly. You just never know where Woolly may appear, so be on the lookout!

The grandmothers of sub-Saharan Africa continue to face inequalities and injustice. They want and deserve better for themselves, for their grandchildren, and for their communities. They are not asking for charity, for pity, nor for favours. Access to health care, protection from violence, political representation, food security and shelter are their human rights, and they have come to claim them!

Please think about collecting any unused fabric, yarn, and notions you may have, and when April comes, you will be able to drop off your donations. Our volunteers will be waiting. And then on April 26th and 27th you can attend the sale to replenish your supply and support the Grandmothers of Africa!

ART FROM THE ATTIC 2023 THANKS YOU!

For an event like ART FROM THE ATTIC to be successful, the essential ingredients are many very generous donors and sponsors, crowds of excited shoppers and delighted buyers, and a great team of hardworking volunteers. And all the benefits go to an amazing generation of African grandmothers, who have raised millions of orphaned grandchildren. The grandmothers continue the battle against HIV and AIDS as they have stepped up be activists in their respective countries – in the areas of health, education, property rights and pensions. A big, warm THANK YOU to all of you who helped in finding new homes for pre-loved art while supporting the Grandmothers Campaign! And if you missed us this year, we will be back in 2024 – at the same time and place!

As always, we welcome new members. You don’t have to be a grandmother to join. Just ask yourself these questions:
  • Is altruism and being part of a community important to you?
  • Are you interested increasing social awareness and social justice such as human rights?
  • Are you motivated to support African community-based initiatives by hosting or participating in events in Regina to raise awareness and funds?
  • Are your values aligned with the Grandmothers Campaign’s grassroots approach in dismantling gender inequity, and interest in helping to empower other women?

If your answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’, then G4G Regina might be the place that meets your needs. Please contact us at g4gregina@gmail.com for more information, or to find out about our next meeting.
