Welcome to Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Regina (G4G Regina)

ART FROM THE ATTIC 2026

Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Regina wants to give your forgotten art a new home and a new life. We welcome donations of any kind of two-dimensional art (original oils, acrylics, watercolours, sketches, limited edition prints, posters, art photographs, essentially anything that can be hung on a wall, either framed or unframed.) Your generous art donations will then be sold to raise funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers Campaign to support the life-enhancing programs run by grandmothers in Africa and the community-led organizations who support them.

The four drop-off locations listed on our poster are ready to accept your donations of art starting on Monday, July 20th (during their business hours.)

FABRIC, YARN & MORE SALE 2026

A huge Thank You to everyone who donated to and purchased items from our Fabric, Yarn & More Sale.

As the 2026 sale fades into the distance, we want to thank Bib and Tucker Clothing for lending us a mannequin. This was used to display one of the beautiful saris donated for the sale. Thank you, also, to the Co-op Marketplace on Quance Street, for lending us grocery baskets for our shoppers to use as they moved through the different rooms.

Fun Fact – we had more than 200 banana boxes full of fabric, measured, priced and ready for sale. Thanks go to the many grocery stores for allowing us to take those boxes off their hands!

Once the sale was over, we had enough fabric left to hold another small sale. On June 13, in The Spot at Southland Mall, we held a one day Pop-up Clearance Fabric Sale. Once again, there were some great bargains to be hand, and some very excited shoppers.  Included that day were Mystery Boxes, given for free with ‘no peeking’! Despite all the sales, we still had leftovers. Some of those were picked up by a couple of local organizations, and the rest were distributed to thrift stores within the city.

Since then, we have been asked when we’re holding our next Fabric Sale. We hold another one in the spring of 2028, but that is not confirmed.

G4G Regina’s popular events and other fundraising efforts raise funds that support the life-enhancing programs run by grandmothers in 14 eastern and south African countries and the community-led organizations who support them. The Grandmothers movement amplifies the voices and expertise of grandmothers in Africa, and shows the world that leadership by older women is critical in reclaiming hope and rebuilding resilience across communities.

JOIN US!

As always, we welcome new members. You don’t have to be a grandmother to join. Just ask yourself these questions:
  • Is altruism and being part of a community important to you?
  • Are you interested increasing social awareness and social justice such as human rights?
  • Are you motivated to support African community-led initiatives by hosting or participating in events in Regina to raise awareness and funds?
  • Are your values aligned with the Grandmothers Campaign’s grassroots approach in dismantling gender inequity, and interest in helping to empower other women?

If your answer to any of these questions is ‘yes’, then G4G Regina might be the place that meets your needs. Please contact us at g4gregina@gmail.com for more information, or to find out about our next meeting.
